Allentown Garden Club of New Jersey
May 11, 2017 - Monthly Meeting: Foraging
Many people don’t realize that they are surrounded by hundreds of wild edible plants. From vacant fields to backyards and woodlands, nature provides an abundance of plants that are food for humans. Educator, naturalist, nutritionist, and wild plant expert Debbie Naha will discuss the wild edible plants of our area, plant identification, safety, look-alike plants, sustainable harvesting, nutrition, and more. The talk will be followed by an outdoor foraging walk. Attendees may even take home a few “wild” recipes.
